"Burn a Miracle" - Say Anything

New track released today from my favorite band, Say Anything, and their upcoming album, Anarchy, My Dear. Sounds a lot like Max Bemis’ earlier stuff.  This track has been on repeat for the last hour.

Christmas. It always comes too early. I’m not a big fan of this season, the needless spending, the ugly decorations, the insincerity, how misinformation and this vague correlation between the birth of Jesus and this particular day, many of its traditions drawn from pagan faiths, manages to suffocate anyone who isn’t Christian in this blanket of tinsel and glitter. But most of all I hate the music, with the exception of 12 songs, now playing on my Spotify Playlist: X-Mas: Holiday Songs I Don’t Hate! (NSFW)

Max and Sherri and Chad and Haley

I had no idea that Say Anything and New Found Glory were feuding, that Chad Gilbert (NFG) was married to Sherri Dupree of Eisley or that he cheated on her with Haley Williams (Paramore). Sherri, of course, is now married to Max Bemis of Say Anything, one of his past albums, In Defense of the Genre, featuring all four of them. This puts so many songs on my ipod in context, “Misery Business” and “Smarter” for example.  It all makes sense now… I am wasting my life.

About Me

My name is Donald Quist. I'm trying to become a better writer and human being. I work as a Public Information Officer in Hartsville and I own a restaurant called Bow Thai Kitchen. About my work: I look for hope in the hopelessness. I have a predilection for expletives, moral dilemmas, ellipses, obscure pop-culture references and parenthetical statements. My collection of short stories is now available online and in a few independent bookstores. You can buy it on Amazon or by clicking that yellow button below.
